Why Marketers can transition to Product Management easily

IMHO marketers have a lot going for them when they choose to transition into a product management role. There are certain commonalities that they can leverage.

Product Management & Product Marketing both

1. Require a lot of internal and external communication (both verbal and written).

2. Mandate an understanding of the audience (personas - segmentation) and crafting experiences that they'll resonate well with.

3. Demand cross-functional coordination i.e. you have to collaborate with a number of parties to execute properly.
