Product Marketing Over the Years
Product Marketing has changed over the years:

1. You're not just competing against industry players for rank on Google. You're competing against Google as well. (plan for featured snippets and FAQs)

2. Running tactical SEM/SEO/Social campaigns isn't enough. To win trust & loyalty, you need a rock-solid brand strategy.

3. Branded search volume (not direct traffic) helps you measure lift from brand awareness campaigns.

4. Customers crave humanized correspondence. The less canned responses on chat, email, social, reviews & support tickets are, the more forgiving they are when you slip up.

5. Social proof is no longer about posting logos & name-dropping. It's how often prospects have already heard about you via advocacy content from your loyal customers.

6. Content is king only if it's treated as a product. If it's not solving the reader's problem, it's junk.

7. Unsubscribes on your email sequences are more insightful than multiple opens without action.
