3 Phases For A New Product Manager

Q: I just got hired as a Product Manager for an existing product. What should my initial months look like?

Since every product journey is different, it's tough to give a one-size-fits-all answer. So much depends on the company culture and how truly empowered you as a Product Manager really are.

Nevertheless, I'm sharing a little slide deck that breaks down on what you should consider doing in your first three months and beyond.

The plan is broken into three phases. Each phase talks about what to do at a product, process and people level.

The first phase (Day 1-30) is focused primarily on learning.

The second phase (Day 30-90) requires you to start running with team and driving day-to-day operations.

The third phase (Day 90+) is about driving strategy while executing on short-term goals.

Hope it helps.
